Purpose of this Blog

First, a little about me. My name is Carson Reber. At the time of writing I am a 22-year-old college student studying psychology at Brigham Young University. I graduate in less than a year and will hopefully begin a graduate program in mental health counseling. Eventually, I hope to become a full-time therapist and start my own private practice. Aside from psychology, my passions include music, philosophy, theology, exploring nature, and learning all sorts of things.

I was born in Orem, UT and shortly after my family moved to a medium sized city in Georgia where I grew up for most of my life. I have an older sister who is a school counselor/therapist, an older brother who is pursuing a master's degree in English, and a younger sister who will soon be starting college herself. My dad is professor of psychology at the University of West Georgia and a licensed professional counselor (I guess it runs in the family). My mom is a registered nurse and is currently doing travel nursing outside of Los Angeles.

I have created this blog to be a kind of sketchpad for my writing. I want it to be a place where I can practice and hone my writing skills. I am going to allow myself the flexibility to write about various topics that interest me. This could include philosophical insights, theological essays, day to day journaling, or sporadic thoughts. I am not going to put a label on this blog or hold myself back from writing what comes to mind.

Again, the purpose of this blog is not to get views or recognition; it is simply to put my thoughts and ideas into a tangible form, improving my writing abilities along the way. If you are stopping by or happen to stumble upon this blog, then enjoy!
