Is there such a thing

as a mid winter bloom

when ice crystals flower

their crisscross shapes run along my windshield

I can see their stems

and pedals

gripping the foggy glass

they took the whole night

to grow

and in sunlight they will

die

leaving little teardrop streaks

I wipe away
