Early Spring Day

Today the grass jumped up

And the sun too

With no clouds to obstruct

It shone freely

The trees are beginning

To sprout their leaves

The oaks come early

The sweetgums take their time

The pines of course

Are always green

So are the Magnolias

Which stand so proud
